This series is for programmers who want to learn ANSI C. It covers the use of numeric variables, constants, and operators to manipulate C expressions, writing, compiling, and testing programs, arrays, and control statements. The series also covers pointers and variable scope concepts. Advanced topics include the function library, memory management, and preprocessor directives.

WEEK 1

Begins with a basic explanation of C language components and quickly progresses to writing and debugging C programs. Sample listings complete with sample output and an analysis of code illustrate the topics of the day.

WEEK 2

Covers pointers and variable scope concepts that are important to capitalizing on C's assets. It also covers numeric arrays characters and strings and structures. It introduces additional program control statements provides detailed explanations of functions and presents alternative functions. Sample listings complete with sample output and an analysis of code illustrate the topics of the day.

WEEK 3

Requirements for Entry

There is no experience or previous qualifications required for enrolment on this course. It is available to all students, of all academic backgrounds.

Study Hours

This is only an approximate figure and is dependant upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material. Furthermore, at the end of each lesson there is a question paper that needs to be completed and returned to your tutor. You should allow at least 1 - 2 hours of study to complete each question paper.

The approximate amount of time required to complete the course is: 40 hrs.
