| This series shows how to use HTML to develop Web pages. It covers common HTML commands and tags, formatting text using tags and CSS style sheets, and incorporating links and images on Web pages. The use of graphics on Web pages is discussed in detail, including graphics software, file size, and animation. Design concepts such as background and color, layout, image maps, and tables are examined, and Web page interactivity using multimedia, applets, and ActiveX is discussed in-depth. Advanced topics covered include using JavaScript for interactivity, and advanced JavaScript techniques such as frames, cookies, objects, text strings, and the history list. | ||||

| START CREATING YOUR OWN WEB PAGES Presents the basic skills needed to use HTML for building a Web page. As of January 2003 this section was updated to reflect HTML 4.0 (including CSS) and some XTHML 1.0 standards.
CREATING HIGH QUALITY WEB GRAPHICS Presents the techniques needed to create high quality graphics that load quickly. As of January 2003 this section was updated to reflect Paint Shop Pro version 7.0, HTML 4.0 (including CSS), and some XTHML 1.0 standards.
LAYOUT AND DESIGN FOR YOUR WEB PAGES Presents the skills needed to design effective Web pages. As of January 2003 this section was updated to reflect HTML 4.0 (including CSS) and some XTHML 1.0 standards.
MAKING YOUR WEB PAGES INTERACTIVE Presents the techniques used for building an interactive Web page.
START USING JAVASCRIPT Presents the basic skills needed to incorporate JavaScript into HTML when building a Web page. As of January 2003 this section was updated to reflect HTML 4.0 (including CSS), JavaScript 1.5, and some XTHML 1.0 standards.

| Study Hours | ||||

This is only an approximate figure and is dependant upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material. Furthermore, at the end of each lesson there is a question paper that needs to be completed and returned to your tutor. You should allow at least 1 - 2 hours of study to complete each question paper. The approximate amount of time required to complete the course is: 40 hrs. |
